Camfield Corners Fall Festival |
The Camfield Corners Fall Festival on Saturday, November 13th was a big success for the Aktion Club of South Mecklenburg in spite of cool weather and gusty winds.
Over $300.00 was raised. Tickets were sold for $.25 each. A hot dog was 2 tickets, pony rides 2 tickets, drinks 1 ticket, Moon bounce 2 tickets. Ticket sales were brisk.
For 4 hours the Kiwanians from the Matthews and Pineville-South Meck clubs helped with set up, ticket sales, games, rides, hot dog sales and much more. "I was supposed to only work an hour but could not leave since it was so much fun. I stayed for the entire time." (Cindy from Pineville-South Meck club). Cecil had a ball with the "guess the object" box. R.C. from Matthews met people who were interested in joining Kiwanis. The music kept it very lively. A cake walk at the end had full participation. Both of the ponies stayed very busy for the pony rides. We heard more than once: "Will this event be repeated again next year?"
John Adams, President of the Aktion Club of South Mecklenburg was busy popping and selling popcorn. Thank you to the co-sponsors - The Arc, Nationwide Insurance and Bi-Lo.
